| From 1950 characterized by the starting automation in the weaving industry, the growing demand for automatic pirn winders, already being mass produced, dictates the business and its needs to move the production to the present location Wuppertal Hatzfeld. The flexible platform of the automatic winder is the base for finding various new applications. Production of medium sized serials of specialized winders, mainly for the braiding and sewing thread industries becomes the major business in the following years. 1984 A milestone on the road to international success in the sewing thread industry is the introduction of the first single spindle winder THREAD KING, a flexible high-speed winder, first for winding industrial cones followed by versions to care kingspools and cops. This winder serial is still maintaining a considerable production share of the current business. 1988 All Hacoba activities are now integrated under the roof of MOENUS A.G. More recently , growth by acquisition is becoming of great significance , specifically with the take over of: - SPT(Great Britain) a specialised winder manufacturer with expertise in high-speed winding - REDAELLI to compliment the activities with heavy-duty winders for the braiding industry. This, coupled with internal expansions into the manufacturing of wire braiders on a new product line, proves Hacobas eagerness to expand on many fronts. Take-overs and mergers in the textile machinery industry characterize the history to the end of the 80's. 1989 To compliment their range of warp preparatory equipment the Moenus A.G.aquires Sucker &Müller in Mönchengladbach ( manufacturer of sizing and dry-finishing machines ) 1992 HACOBA takes over SPIRKA, their competitor in braiding machines and integrates their own braider into SPIRKA's production. 1994 DEUTSCHE BABCOCK A.G. acquires the capital majority of MOENUS A.G. 1998 HACOBA Textilmaschinen GmbH in Wuppertal becomes an integrate part of SUCKER-MÜLLER-HACOBA GmbH. 1999 The HACOBA winder activities are separated and acquired by the Swiss holding company Schweiter Technologies. HACOBA Spultechnik GmbH is founded and now under the same roof together with SSM, the Swiss winder specialist. 2000 Benefiting from synergies by joining together two specialists and the concentration on the core business determine all further developments. The typical example is the "Thread prince" serial where the use of a common platform and mass-produced electronic controls converts into equipment with a favourable cost- to-performance ratio. Existing winder designs are upgraded with the latest available components and complex new developments are permanently dealt with. 2005 Introduction of a new single spindle winder model PSA for the universal use in the narrow fabrics industry ( ribbons and braids ) not for flanged bobbins only, but also for pirns, still required today for special narrow fabrics. This flexible system with two synchronized drives is under test with already promising results for a further range of applications. | ||||||||||
